Liepāja is the 3rd biggest Latvian city with more than 90 000 inhabitants. The city is very "green" - eco-friendly, because 35% of the total city area are taken by parks, gardens, forests etc.
The origin of Liepāja can be found in a small fisherman village, which first appears in chronicles already in year 1253. In 1919 just after the WW1 it also was the capital of Latvia for a very short time.
